South Pier Creamery & Market servers play a key role in creating a fun, family-friendly environment by delivering quick, friendly, and effective customer service.

Essential Work Duties

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers with a welcoming attitude.
  • Provide flavor suggestions, samples, and product information.
  • Answer customer questions accurately or know where to find the information.
  • Acknowledge customers promptly, ensuring they feel seen and valued.

Food Service & Preparation:

  • Scoop ice cream and toppings to create custom desserts.
  • Prepare and fill customer orders for dairy and non-dairy desserts.
  • Hand roll waffle cones and other house created treats

Operations & Maintenance:

  • Operate the cash register to collect payments.
  • Maintain front-of-house supplies and inventory for efficient service.
  • Stock market items and ensure displays are well-organized and appealing.
  • Keep the front-of-house and back-of-house areas clean and organized, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Team Support:

  • Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned.

General Guidelines and Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable about new products, specials, and stock levels, offering alternate recommendations as needed.
  • Help guests as much as possible, going the extra mile to get answers to their questions.
  • Stay on task and focused during both busy and slow times. Avoid personal phone use and always be visible to
    customers.
  • Ability to use time wisely and work efficiently, being intentional with your time and movements.
  • Follow health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues to ensure smooth shift coverage, including breaks.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Age:

  • Must be at least 14 years old with a valid work permit.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
  • Punctuality and reliable attendance.
  • Willingness to learn and improve continuously.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Availability:

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Technology & Certifications:

  • Access to a mobile phone and the Home Base app for scheduling.
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification is a plus but can be obtained on the job.

Experience:

  • Prior cashier or food service experience is a plus.
